NFL Player Puts Islam Above Team

Once again we see Islam being brought into the workplace. Today we learn that Minnesota Vikings safety Husain Abdullah, has decided that fasting and playing at a lower level, is more important than giving it his all for the team.

Even while sprinting in the heat and humidity during drills, sometimes in full pads, Abdullah is adamant about his faith. He will not allow himself so much as a cup of water until the sun sets and before it rises.

“I’m putting nothing before God, nothing before my religion,” Abdullah said. “This is something I choose to do, not something I have to do. So I’m always going to fast.

Unfortunately the team is foolishly going along with this.

“Last year it occurred in early September, and we saw a dip in his performance,” coach Brad Childress said. “We said, ‘What’s wrong with Husain Abdullah? It doesn’t seem like he has enough spunk.

“I think we have our arms around it now and know when he is going to wake up and when he is going to eat and what we can pack on him before the sun comes up.”

Obviously he is not a team player, and hopefully his teammates will let him know this.

    Hi Christopher,

It’s going to be hard to combat positive laws designed for special interest groups because they are all around us and exist for every group.

A Natural law is a law that’s just, a positive law is a law designed for a particular society, positive laws are not bad in themselves, but when they violate a natural law, they turn dangerous, because it results in might makes right.

Positive laws are also non-binding so they can change depending on how the demographics of a culture change.

Sharia is an example of a positive law. How many people today actually know the difference between natural rights and positive rights?

The man is getting paid to do a job.
When fasting gets in the way of doing the job you’re supposed to do you not only jeopardize your own safty (not drinking any water from sunrise to sunset) you are putting the lives and careers of fellow workers, in this case teammates, at risk.

Islam is not a religion that mixes well with western society.
If you must fast then do it after hours.
If you must pray…do it after hours.

When working…concentrate on your job and do it right or you”re fired…simple as that. Got it? If not go live in an OIC country that imposes sharia law. We don’t and will not practise charia here.

Let me point some things out.
        1) Islam mixes fine with western society…. when you say that muslims should fast after hours, then what about when christians fast during hours? How come you are not pointing that out?

        2) Muslims do concentrate on their jobs… in fact, I know many muslims that do better in their jobs during the month of Ramadan than any other time during the year due to the fact that they want to do their best during their holy month.

        3) He is not putting himself at risk… that is why he took lower level play for this month. He knew that he would not be able to do his regular position and fast at the same time, so he found a solution that worked for everyone.

        4) He is not compromising his job at all, he is simply taking a step down for one month.
“When working…concentrate on your job and do it right or you”re fired…simple as that. Got it?”
Oh yes… we all get it… and he is, and that is why he is not fired!

          1) Nonsense. pislam mixes with nothing else. Show me where Christians fast en masse and make a big fuss about it and demand that everyone else respect them for it.

          2) Why are so many arselifters in the West on welfare then?

          3) Arselifters who fast and gorge like they do during Ramadamadingdong have higher rates of obesity and diabetes.

          4) Who cares?

it is absolutely unbelievable to me that tensions between Muslims and people who call themselves “Christians” have escalated to this level. If you read the many posts on this website, it becomes apparent that what the Muslims now face in their ongoing struggle to merely embody their rights as human beings, is a racist, classist, and undereducated mob of haters. I only ask these people to look back into our history as a country. Does not this situation parallel the hatred shown to the African Americans in the 1960’s? Does it not resemble even in the slightest ways the discrimination the Jews faced before atrocities were committed? You may say these parallels are far fetched but each incident cited started with ignorance similar to that of this site. We’ve all seen or heard about the extremism in the Muslim faith but here online is the extremism on the other side. So next time one of you leaves a comment saying something like “the muslims are taking over” think about who’s really taking over, because I can tell `you this, Its not the Muslims.

Muslims have been persecuting Christians for centuries, and being a Christian does not mean that one has to bow to Islam. If you read many of the posts on this site it becomes apparent that Muslims are trying to takeover the world. Why don’t you explain what race Islam is? Then explain what non-Muslims are supposed to like about the advancement of Islam.

If I am undereducated, why don’t you come back and debate me on the Islamic scriptures? I will gladly expose your ignorance. No it does not parallel those past events, because Islam is an actual threat. Since you are supportive of Jews, explain how you can be supportive of Islam as well. As Islam calls for Muslims not to befriend them, and to dominate them.

YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.

YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

The Islamic scriptures also state that Muslims have to fight and kill Jews to reach judgement day.

            Book 041, Number 6985:

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.

Using your “logic” the Allied Forces were as bad as the Nazis. Sometimes there are times to stand up in life, this is one of them.

Islam condones terrorism, rape, and kidnapping. Which is your favorite part?

          1. Islam law contradicts Western law. That is not even close to fitting fine.

Christians are not on a worldwide movement trying to impose religious laws on all, that is why I did not mention it.

          2. So what? They have to eat. The threat of Islam to non-Muslims still remains.

          3. He did not purposely take a lower level of play, his body forced him to.

I personally don’t care what religion an athlete is a member of as long as they don’t try to blow up the team plane. Muhammad Ali was a Black Muslim and followed the skewed BM teachings of the late mac daddy, Elijah Muhammad, the forerunner of Louis Farrakhan. Even Malcom X found the BM message to be aberrant, and was assassinated by BM’s for leaving the movement. Kind of sounds familiar, doesn’t it!!??!!

Anyway, chill out and don’t let some of these pogues get to you.

Logical Next Step – Prohibit “Games” being held in the Holy Month. It is prescribed that non-Muslims respect the Islamic sensitivity and avoid eating food or consuming water before the sun sets.
And our you-know-who will be bending over backwards putting their heads deep inside their rectums – and still somehow try and suck-up the ‘sensitive’ you-know-what as deep as they can – and they’ll not stop till ‘satisfaction’ is provided to the sensitive you-know-what.

I would prefer ot call them arseholes but that would not be politically correct.
Mohammad didn’t invent this BTW. It was a moon cult 400 years before he came along. He just adopted the customs to try to convert the meek minded. He promised “booty” and “women slaves” for those who fought for him as well as paradise for those who died for him. What a guy!
Mohammad also broke Ramadan when he decided it was appropriate to invade a tribe of people who refused to convert.
Mhammad was a cuthroat, a pirate, a hypocrite, a liar, a cheat, a rogue, a pervert, etc. Why is he the man most emulated by Muslims? It’s beyond me.

Read the real story from NFL

Abdullah’s older brother, Hamza, plays in the NFL — an Arizona Cardinals safety — and plans to abstain from daytime food and drink during the holiday.

Former NBA star Hakeem Olajuwon also observed. When the Houston Rockets had an afternoon tip-off or a grueling practice during Ramadan, he was often panting in thirst.

“I find myself full of energy, explosive,” Olajuwon would say, according to a biography posted on “And when I break the fast at sunset, the taste of water is so precious.”

Gary, it’s also okay to call them Ugly Hinder Pointers. That’s what Muslims do when they fall to their knees and hands. They point their ugly hinders at decent passersby.

It’s also okay to call these Ugly Hinder Pointers hypocrites. After these Muslims chant to their god, Satan, nicknamed Allah, for a few minutes, they go home and legally beat their wives, legally subjugate and relegate all women to second class. These animals also classify their sisters, daughters, aunts, female cousins to second class. If that isn’t hypocrisy, then what is hypocrisy?

These Ugly Hinder Pointers, the hypocrites that they are, can also go home and legally murder their daughters in an Honor Killing, legally stone women to death, legally lash them until blood runs down their backs, legally rape little girls for running away from a forced “marriage.”

We can also call these fanaticl Muslims Dirty A**holes because they can go a long time without taking a bath. Do you remember a few years ago when these Dirty A**holes took over the Catholic church in Bethlehem and held it for several days? I’ve been there and I know that there are no showers, and handy wiping paper, in that church.

These Muslim Dirty A**holes dumped their Muslim s*it all over the floor of the church near where Jesus was born. Is that a blasphemy or is that a blasphemy? Ever since that day, I have called the Muslim fanatics, who fall to the ground on all fours, chant their prayers to their Muslim god, Satan, nicknamed Allah, Dirty A**holes, or Ugly Hinder Pointers. Isn’t that appropriate? I’m sure those ruthless, uncouth Muslim beasts were plenty dirty after that episode in Bethlehem. And these stupid animals dare call themselves “the best of people.” They’re not even the best of animals because I’ve seen animals cover their feces after dumping it on the ground. Those animals are cleaner than the Ugly Hinder Pointers.

Study your own religion. Most of the rites and practices of the Hajj existed long before Muhammad appeared on this planet. They were practiced by the pagans of the Arabian peninsula (and others pagans in the ME). The Kaaba housed a number of pagan deities and had the black meteor stone in the corner long before Muhammad was born. Wasn’t Muhammad’s father named Abdullah??? This shows that a pagan deity named allah was worshiped before the advent of Muhammad. The month of Ramadan was sacred to the early pagans as well. Many practiced ‘Friday’ worship; cast pebbles at the pillars to ward off evil spirits; cleansed themselves and wore garments of white; fasted during the holy months and holy days; circled around the Kaaba multiple times; snuffed ZamZam water; offered sacrifices (sometimes human); their wealth; and performed many other rites and ceremonies that Muhammad may have incorporated into Islam. Therefore, Islam is merely the world’s largest monotheistic pagan religion, and its god, allah, was worshiped long before Muhammad showed up.

If Muhammad had a viable beef against the Jews (as evident in the Qur’an and Hadith), and if Muhammad was a true prophet; then it would have been expected for him to restore the Jews to their Sinai Covenant and not invent some new and strange religion and god. Instead Muhammad came preaching what was to the Jews a false and pagan religion and god. Even if the Jews did forsake their covenant as Muhammad claimed, they weren’t dumb enough to accept Muhammad’s rehashed paganism. This is the real beef that Islam has had with the Jews. The Jews could see that Muhammad was a false and deluded prophet, and they rejected him. This is the real reason that he had them slaughtered later, and this remains the driving force in Islam today: “death to Israel and all Jews”; “death to all who render aid to Israel” (Jews); and … “revenge for any previous slight, no matter how insignificant, nor how many centuries ago the incident happened.” I have been studying Islam since the 444 days, but I am no ‘scholar.’ Truth detector; nah … I’m just a BS rejector. It seems that most Muslims that post on this site, along with their ignorant apologists, don’t even know the origins of their own religion. They’re in reality the original “… one sided asshole”(s)!!!

Sandy Koufax skipped Game 1 of the World Series because it fell on Yom Kippur. Christy Matthewson never played a single game on Sunday. Should both of these players be removed from the Hall of Fame since they too are “selfish”?

Should Chariots of Fire be remade to make the devout Christian who refused to run the 100 meters because it fell on Sunday be recut to make him look like the villain?

    • Gailie
      August 10, 2010 at 4:37 pm

Thank you for making this point. While the NFL has every right to suspend this player and the team has every right to expect him to follow the same rules as the other teammates, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I think we compromised our Christianity a long time ago when we allowed sports to supersede our religious obligations on Sundays. I have seen a lot of parents have to decide what was more important – Sunday worship or the kids’ soccer practice. Frankly, I think Christians did the wrong thing. We should have stood our ground. Now look… Sunday is the same as any other day. People are more tired and weary than ever before. I am as guilty as anyone but I do not think we have made the best decisions.

If this man is honoring his religious beliefs, more power to him. The point is that the team has the right to kick him off, just as he has the right to assert his religious freedom.

Hey, Mohammad, instead of mouthing off and calling us all kinds of names, why don’t you tell us the good that Islamism has accomplished? Come on. Tell us.

SoulHonky, Sandy Koufax was a ball pitcher, so he didn’t have to skip anything. Koufax was simply rotated to a different day.

    • August 10, 2010 at 3:50 pm

Hank Greenberg also skipped games because of Yom Kippur. There are lot of different stories about players sitting out or fasting during the season for religious reasons.

The NFL actually changed the start time of a Jets game because of complaints that the team had played late games on two straight Jewish holidays. ESPN also moved up the start of the Sox/Yanks game last year in honor of Yom Kippur.

If it’s wrong for Abdullah to do what he’s doing and for the Vikings to respect his faith, then people here need to bash every other athlete who chooses faith over team.

Jews are not on a worldwide movement trying to impose religious laws on all, but Muslims are. So your comparison is invalid.

The Bible did not command him to do what he did. Do you care to talk about his buddy the Mufti of Jerusalem?

At the Nuremberg Trials, Eichmann’s deputy Dieter Wisliceny (subsequently executed as a war criminal) testified:

The Mufti was one of the initiators of the systematic extermination of European Jewry and had been a collaborator and adviser of Eichmann and Himmler in the execution of this plan. … He was one of Eichmann’s best friends and had constantly incited him to accelerate the extermination measures. I heard him say, accompanied by Eichmann, he had visited incognito the gas chamber of Auschwitz.

Islam has a profound hatred of Jews. Do you support Islam?

Hitler did not slaughter Jews, Gypsies and undesirables in the name of Jesus Christ.
His followers wore the swastika, not the cross.

I have studied both religions and most of the comments people are saying had nothing to do with the real aspects of the religions. Read or truly live good christians or Muslims then you wont sound soo STUPID

FYI JESUS (Isa alaihi salam) is MUSLIM!

This is very true, however, Yeshua of Nazareth never was, nor never will be a Muslim. Yeshua was basically a Torah observant Jew. Yeshua would never worship the pagan, Arabian, imp, demon, allah, nor would Yeshua ever regard Muhammad as a true prophet. Had they ever met t Yeshua would have exorcised Muhammad’s demons and allowed him to live his life in peace and tranquility the rest of his days. Too late now for both Muhammad and his demon inspired religion called Islam.

Yeshua only gave glory to HaShem’ the G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. Isa is just one more of the Arabian nights fairy tales taught by Islam’s lying, demon possessed prophet, Muhammad. Once again, no points for the inane, boring, and totally screwed up Islamic catechism lesson there AS. Thanx anyway!!! 😉

So what? His career may have gone down, but should a man be judged by his career in a sport or his righteousness, piety, and kindness, all of which I say improved once Cassius Clay came to Islam.

I feel that this kind of religious conviction and putting God before all makes some Christians really jealous because they believe in God as well but not always honest enough to admit that Christians and especially their religious leaders have sold out God’s religion over time after the passing of Jesus Christ, the annointed one. Except for a few that truely love God will acknowledge such conviction from a person no matter what their religion.

While I would have to agree with the your claim that the ‘Xtian’ church lost its roots; it lost its roots when it rejected its ties and origins to Judaism. Even the reformer, Martin Luther, became a vile anti-Semite when the Jews of his day rejected his views on conversion to ‘Xtianity.’ Even before Luther, the foundations of a seething anti-Semitism and hatred by European ‘Xtians’ laid the groundwork for the ‘Inquisitions’ by some of the most ignoble miscreants ever recorded in European history. An unfathomable number of Jews were persecuted and put to death by so called European ‘Xtianity.’ This fact feeds modern Islamic catechism to this day as Islam uses such facts in an attempt to make excuses for their 1400+ year history of perfidy and bloodshed.

Many of the early settlers came to the ‘new world’ to extricate themselves from the vileness and persecution of European ‘Xtianity,’ so called. It is apparent that some of the earliest immigrants to this continent (North American) based their guiding principles for life and liberty on principles as revealed in the Torah/Tanach and ‘Xtian’ Bible. Islam had nothing what so ever to do with the founding of this continent, however, Islam may have much to do with the destruction of two large nations that currently inhabit the continent, e.g. the nations of Canada and the US. Islam is also meddling in Central and South America as well. This fulfills Islamic, Jewish, and ‘Xtian’ escatology. As far as what religion an athlete chooses, well, I’m not a Vikings fan anyway; I don’t really care. My main claim is that Islam worships a different, Arabian, pagan deity that differs from the deity of either Jews or ‘Xtians.’ That is the most important point.

Ramadan is a commandment of god, a commandment upon every muslim healthy enough to commit to it. The fact that this man fasts doesn’t mean he is putting Islam above the Team. It means that he is putting GOD above the team. How could anyone say that is wrong? Do you guys who bash this guy honestly believe that football is more important than GOD? It is sad and pathetic to see how many Christians focus so much on football on the holiest day of their week. It’s disgusting to see how much all of you guys have compromised your religious beliefs, saying that they should be superceded by some sport. I love football just as much as the next guy (Bengal’s fan), but to say that the man who is fasting is wrong is, well, ridiculous.

In our supposedly errant scriptures, the imperative is clear:

I just wanted to say that Mr. Abdullah is trying real hard to balance religion with football. In the USA being a Muslim and being successful is hard, but he is showing us that he won’t let his religion stop him from becoming an athlete and nor will he let football stop him from being Muslim. Besides this shows true strength in someone when they do something while maintaining a relationship with God. How many people do you know who can do both? Honestly whether he fasts or not he is a very talented athlete. Mashallah!

More and more non-Muslims are getting sick of Muslims in America, putting Islam before all. We will continue to speak out against Islam.
