In NYC, most street vendors sell Halal only food. Considering it is very difficult to obtain a street vendors permit, I am wondering how is it that basically muslims only get such a permit. I am not against having Halal food, I am against pushing others out of this business.
This is a dynamic common where Islam takes over specific occupations in the society. They wish to dominate food because they want to impose Halal restrictions on the entire community.
Eating Halal food is roughly equivalent to taking Communion when you are not baptized.

My wife isn’t doing as well; she just got a pacemaker on Wednesday, she’s going to be in rehab for a couple of weeks, and they found a small tumor in her breast. They’re going to cut it out.
