Muslim Group Claims Nevada Police Detained 7 Men for Praying

Muslims in Las Vegas are doing one of the things that Muslims have mastered, and that is playing the victim card. This might just be a setup to file a lawsuit, as the article states that the men were performing one of the five required daily prayers. But according to Islamic Law, Muslims are allowed to delay a prayer while traveling.

The Prayer
Prayer Times and Making up Missed Prayers

f1.5 No one has an excuses to delay the prayer beyond its time except:

(3) or someone who delayed it to combine two prayers during a journey (dis: f15.12)

If this was not a lawsuit setup, maybe they should stop making a spectacle of themselves by praying in the street, and they would not have these problems.

LAS VEGAS — The nation’s largest Muslim advocacy organization has filed a complaint with police in a Las Vegas suburb, saying seven Muslim men from southern California were detained and told they were acting suspiciously while praying in a shopping center parking lot.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations said Friday it filed the complaint this week against the Henderson Police Department because it did not understand what was suspicious about the men.

“Our main concern is the police department looking at praying and the way they looked as probable cause for investigating those men,” said CAIR spokeswoman Munira Syeda. “They did nothing illegal.”

Henderson police spokesman Todd Rasmussen said the complaint was received and internal affairs would investigate, but he declined comment on the incident.

Rasmussen said the department would inform the group of the outcome of its complaint, but said it did not have a timeline for an investigation.

The group says the men, whom it identified as being of various ethnic backgrounds including Middle Eastern and south Asian, were performing one of five required Muslim daily prayers in the lot while stopped to buy gas and food Dec. 20 during a roadtrip.

As they returned to their car, they were stopped by three officers and kept for about 40 minutes while three officers checked their backgrounds and searched their car, Munira said.

Munira said the men were not blocking traffic or preventing other cars from parking.

A CAIR attorney said in a statement that the group was seeking discipline against the officers involved, changes to officer training and compensation for the emotional distress of the men.

“The scope and length of the stop was not reasonable under the circumstances, nor did it serve any legitimate investigative purpose,” CAIR lawyer Ameena Qazi wrote in a letter to Henderson police.

You are correct that Muslims can delay and combine prayer if they are travelling. Although there still are limits within that exception. For example you cannot just wait until the end of the day and pray all 5 prayers at once if you are able to reasonably take breaks along your journey to pray. So that could have been their stop to pray after delaying.

If they delayed one of them, they would be also making up one. The article says that they were just performing one.

Years ago, someone I knew used to say prayers are like junk mail for Jesus. Since arselifters do nothing but rote prayers, allah must be getting a lot of constant spam.

There is probably one half billion muslims in this world that couldn't give a sh*t about praying AT ALL. They don't like that bulls**t system anymore than sane people do!

Where in the quran does it say to pray 5 times a day? It doesn't, it says to pray 2 times a day, morning and evening. They are never challenged on this.

Muslims are not allowed to use our courts, under what Islamic grounds can they go to a non muslim court? They are never challenged on this, either.

You know, where is the respect for our sensibilities? Once while riding a train into NYC, at a stop in Philly, a Mooooslim got on board. Then, once the train gets going again, this Moooslim reaches into his coat, "oh shit, what's he doing," and pulls out his evil book. He then starts, quietly, I must say, reading his evil book. So, he didn't blow anything up, but my anxiety levels went through the roof. Why in this climate, can they not show a little respect and consideration for our sensiblities? I know …. stupid question.

Compensation for "emotional distress!" How do we seek compensation for our emotional distress??? You don't pray in parking lots, you don't make a spectacle of your religious worship in public in America. How do I seek compensation for my emotional distress at their lack of respect and consideration for our culture and way of life?

You don't. All muslims are to wage jihad (and it can be done by the tongue – taqiyya/kithman, by their wealth and/or violence). All muslims are told by old moe that they can pray whenever and wherever the time of day, read Hadith B1,7,331.I

If they knew they were creating terror they would be very happy. It is one of ol' moe's requirements too, to create terror (it is easier to subjugate people that way).

All I got to say is to grow some gonads and look for real signs of Jihadist's wanting to blow us up. Otherwise if you are a Christian then pull out a Bible. Pull out a rosary if you are a Catholic. If you are Jewish then pray (do the forward and backward motions) that I have seen some Jews do on Bart. Stop being ashamed of ourselves and if you are an atheist then pull out a book with a title of 'Legacy of Jihad', or 'The Politically Incorrect Guide to islam', or something like that. I used to pull out a rosary, or one of those types of books with a big, old title exposing islam for what it is – terrorists, bloody jihad, or hateful.

Couldn't these guys be arrested for homosexual importuning if they're going to make this sort of display in public?

    • March 7, 2010 at 3:05 am

lol! Yes, arselifting like that in public is an open invitation. Too bad they didn't have targets painted on their backsides or it would have been an open invitation of another kind.

Praying five times per day is just another pagan ritual that Muhammad/Islam has incorporated into their reorganized, rehashed brand of paganism. Muslims are just jerking everyone's chains by claiming that they 'must' pray at certain times of the day. If this practice continues, then Muslims can expect to have their brand of paganism challenged on a regular basis. Besides; they are really being inconsiderate and boorish with their filthy Eastern claims and practices anyhow. In studying early pre-Islamic Arabian paganism, one can find almost all the practices and rituals employed by modern Islam. Muhammad's 'Gabriel and Allah' are obviously really evil djinn that have transformed themselves into 'beings of light.' I guess that Mo was as gullible as Joe when it came to claiming new inspiration from some supposed 'angelic being.' Doom on them!!!

There's an article and video of this on Jihad Watch –
It seems they were never detained.

    • March 10, 2010 at 8:28 pm

I saw this on the news, now they want to be compensated for "emotional distress".

Too bad the officer didn't arrest them for offensive behaviour.

  9. March 11, 2010 at 5:12 am

These police officers deserve commendation for investigating these enemies within our borders. Unfortunately, too few law enforcement officers are willing to do so.

They certianly do. When they were talking to the Muslims about what they were praying about one cop said, how do I know that you were not saying to kill a cop.
