Filipino influencer causes outrage with ‘halal pork’ post – ‘mocking us Muslims’
The deleted post by Crist Briand, who has been ordered to issue a written explanation, has triggered a debate on freedom of expression
A Filipino content creator is facing a warning from a government agency and a torrent of online backlash after posting a message on social media asking where to find “halal pork” – a contradiction in Islamic belief that critics say crosses the line between satire and hate speech.
The post made on Tuesday by Crist Briand has since been deleted, but screenshots of his remark continue to circulate online, prompting angry reactions and calls for accountability.
Accountability? Should he be charged with “spreading mischief or corruption” in the land? Which sentencing can be archaic. Brutal.
According to the world renowned Tafsir (scholarly interpretation and explanation of the Koran) Ibn Kathir, the “mischief” pertains to the following actions.
Koran 2:11
Koran 5:33
One social media user challenged Briand to try showing disrespect in Muslim communities and see how people would react. “What you’re doing, mocking us Muslims, might bring you harm.”
But for Ustadz Montanier Shaidee, a religious scholar from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, the phrase “halal pork” is offensive since pork in Islam is haram, or forbidden.
That phrase is offensive because pork can never be considered halal

i saw beef strips marketed as breakfast meat that is intended as a substitute for pork bacon. i would not object if the slaughter of the animal is humane. it is interesting that lib cowards have no objection to halaal slaughter because it is carried out by hostile angry moslems. if they had any honesty they could tell us about their reasons. but they avoid the subject because it is embarassing
The author seems to find the concept of halal pork absurd, but the genuine offense felt by the religious scholar is overlooked. Its concerning how some interpret religious differences with such hostility.
"Islamophobia": The fear of speaking out against the rapidly growing religion/ideology that is out to repress all who do not follow its doctrine.
Sir Winston Churchill
“Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.
No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step…”

Hey buddy, just like they don’t care that Islam discriminates against females.

Islam is a hostile political ideology that is a threat to non-Muslims. Why would I respect it?
Muslims don’t eat pork.
