Christians and Muslims have mixed a bit at the church.
“We invited leadership from the mosque to address a public gathering of our congregation during Lent to tell us a little bit about Islam,” Briggs said. “I think our people enjoy understanding another religion. It helps us to understand our own faith.”
With all the news reports on Muslims, I would think that all Church leaders would have taken the time to educate themselves on Islam. Apparently that is not the case. Reverend, did the Muslims who spoke at your Church tell you that Islam calls for your dominance or death?

The Reverend speaks of peace between Christianity and Islam. But how can that be when Islam calls for perpetual war?
Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387:
Narrated Anas bin Malik:Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’ And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah.” Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, “O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?” He replied, “Whoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah’, faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have.”
Finally Reverend, did they tell your congregation that according to the Islamic scriptures that Jesus will come back as a Muslim and destroy Christianity? How do you think that would have went over?
Book 37, Number 4310:
Narrated AbuHurayrah:The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (peace_be_upon_him). He will descent (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him.
Do you think that the Jesus of Christianity would have supported these actions Reverend? Of course he would not have, which means that Islam does not belong in your Church. This is besides the fact that the Muslims have disrespected you, by not telling you the whole story about Islam. Will you now do the right thing and ask them to leave?

Understanding Islam and building a peaceful future are laudable goals, if mutually exclusive.
The fact is that the Episcopal Church is a Christian Church.
They employ liturgy, part of which is derived from the Orthodox and even Coptic churches.
This rector seems to have no sense of history, Christian or Muslim for that matter.
Islam is an errant monotheism. The very use of the church for its practices profanes Christianity. Do you think, for even one moment, Rev. Briggs, that you would be welcome to hold a mass in a mosque?
Or even in the basement of a mosque?
Interfaith dialogue between Muslims and Christians consists of this:
The Christians say that Islam is a great religion.
Then the Muslims say that Islam is a great religion.
You have submitted once.
You will probably submit a thousand times.
And the second you don’t submit, your Muslim “friends” will throw a ton of bricks right onto your head.
You are playing with fire.

I have another approach to this problem. The rector of this church cannot allow the Muslim services in the basement of his church without the approval of his local bishop. I would suggest getting in touch with the diocesan authorities. I suspect that their views will be closer to ours. Though we cannot be certain.
What do the congregants have to say about this? If I was one, I would leave the church ASAP. The church deserves to have a mass exodus. This or any other church who thinks of allowing muslims to set up a mosque ought to be monitored by authorities just as all mosques should be monitored. Now I’ll be waiting for a mosque to allow Christians or Jews to set up a church or synagogues in their basement.
I cannot believe this! Although it comes as no surprise. If anyone has a contact e-mail for this pro-Islamic ‘Christian’ pacifier, please send to me. I’d love to send him a piece of my mind, backed up with facts.

As a Southern Baptist Pastor, I implore you to change your mind about the Mosque. I have another Pastor friend who’s congregation had outgrown their Church. Against much advice, my friend and the Deacons and Elders of the Church decided to sell the old Church to the local Islamic Society. After selling the House of God to Islam, the Church fell on hard times. Membership declined, people stopped getting along with each other. My Pastor friend had some serious health issues in his family. They Church has fallen apart. He has had to relocate and take an Associate Pastor position. You can’t share God’s house with the antichrist, or sell it to them and expect to prosper.
I humbly ask have you read the Qur’an or the Hadith of Bukhari? Have you studied 1st and 2nd John? If you’ve done this you can’t help but see Islam is nothing more than the antichrist. How do you think you will be judged in the hereafter for opening the door and allowing the enemy into God’s house? Please read any of Dr Mark Gabriel’s books. Dr Gabriel is a great Christian man, a former Islamic Scholar and Professor, as well as a former Immam. He had memorized the Qur’an by the age of 12.
You don’t have to take my word or Dr Gabriel’s word, the Qur’an and the Hadith are very easy reads.
I ask you, from one Pastor to another, please Pray about this before you allow this to happen!

My great aunt and other family members (the ones who did not go to The Salvation Army) were members of St. Mary’s in Manchester, CT years ago. Manchester was once the nicest little town you could imagine. But like most nice, friendly people who are uninformed about Islam, they are clueless. I am sure they think it is the Christian thing to do to share their space in such a way. Islamists have done a great job of framing the debate. We have a lot of catching up to do.
I think that it is the old mainline Protestant denominations (Methodist, Episcopal, Lutheran, ect) that are cozying up to Muslims. My best advice would be if you are going to a church like this to immediatly resign membership and seek out an evangelical type church (Assemblies of God, Pentecostal ect) or a Baptist church. Understand that churches are like people and each one is different.
Did their muslim guests tell them about the persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the massacre of Christians in Nigeria, the genocide of Christians in the Sudan and the kidnapping of Christian children to be indoctrinated into islam? Did they mention the burning of churches in Malaysia and Indonesia and Kosovo? Or how about Christians being driven out of Lebanon, Iraq and the PA and hamas controlled territories? Or did they bother to mention muslim converts to Christianity being sentenced to death in Pakistan, Afghanistan and other muslim countries? Or how about the female genital mutilation, the stonings and floggings, forced shrounding and “honor” murders of women and girls throughout the muslim world.
