Muslims Burn Protestant Church in Algeria

While the Vatican sits silently and leftist Christians continually make excuses for Islam, things are getting worse, and worse for Christians in Islamic lands. The silence and excuses are only emboldening them. Wake up, Islam is not Christianity friendly.

Protestant Church Burned in Algeria
January 11, 2010

ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) — Islamists looted and burned a Protestant church in Algeria, the congregation’s leader said Monday, suggesting they were inspired by a recent wave of religious intolerance in the Arab and Muslim world.

The church — hosted in an apartment block in the city of Tizi Ouzou some 100 kilometers (60 miles) east of Algiers, the Algerian capital — was ransacked and set ablaze on Saturday night, several Algerian newspapers said.

The independent El Watan daily published a picture of a smoldering pile of pulpits and desks that had been brought outside for destruction. It quoted the pastor of the local Pentecostal community, Mustapha Krireche, as saying worshippers fled the temple because local police had left a gathering of anti-Christian rioters unchecked.

The congregation was worshipping in the apartment block because it had not received official government approval to operate a church.

Mustapha Krim, the head of the Algerian Protestant Church association, said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press on Monday that looters also set fire to a pile of Bibles and religious textbooks, and desecrated Christian crosses.

He said the looting showed ”Islamist intolerance considers there is no room for Christian religious practices in Algeria,” and alleged it was ”fueled by what just happened in Egypt,” where six people were killed in a church shooting during Christmas celebrations. In mainly Muslim Malaysia, nine churches have also been recently burned down amid violence against the country’s Christian minority.

The Protestant Church in Algeria filed five separate complaints for arson and looting with local authorities, Krim said Monday.

”Authorities don’t want to get involved because they’re worried of getting in trouble with the Islamists,” Krim said.

There was no official comment from Algeria’s government on the church looting. A senior police officer in the town of Tizi Ouzou confirmed the police hadn’t intervened, despite the complaints. He said authorities couldn’t intervene because the church hadn’t been authorized as a place of worship.

Why is it you never hear of Christians burning down a mosque? Or why is it you never hear of a Christian suicide bomber that screams "Jesus is the Lord!" as he blows up a bus or a market full of innocent people? Islam is insanity and should be erased.

All the appeasement of later years have given them wind in the sails. Most people are cowards and know that the muslims are dangerous. What they don't understand is that they are digging their ownn graves. All they gain with the appeasment is a little borrowed time, nothing else.

    • January 12, 2010 at 1:26 am

You would think that more non-Muslims would be willing to stand up for life as we know it for their families future generations.

    • January 12, 2010 at 9:58 pm

They are not only digging their own graves, they dig the graves and the future for their own descendents. We should see what accepting dhimmitude has done for the Christians and Jews of any Muslim majority country – not one darn thing except more persecution, chaos and death.

I adventured to Algiers in the 80’s as a single woman traveler. I am fortunate that I was able to return home. At the time, I called Algeria the armpit of the world. The people are still very bitter about the French/Algerian war, whereas the friendly people of Morocco which is their immediate neighbor, are welcoming and smiling. The bellhop who tried to assist me in my room with the door open was pulled in a parallel position out the door by two thugs. I haven’t been to Afghan but I doubt that it could be too much worse than Algeria. I’ve yet to find a filthier place on the planet with the most fearful of people. Remember, Algeria has killed so many thousands of their own people in recent years and there is a desolate area that became fertile just from the number of bodies dumped there. Nuff said!.

I am glad you made it home OK. Muslims have been killing each other for centuries, so it is pretty ridiculous to think that they are going to get along with us.

I don't think the Vatican is silent – they are working on securing themselves even more so. They are waiting for the next Saudi to shove a Koran in their faces so they can kiss it.

gag, that just made me sick. I am a disgruntled Catholic. I am disgruntled because of the mixed messages, the absolute absence of any truth finding about what Islam is, from the Catholic Church. And instead just tell us that Islam is Abrahamic (hogwash) and worships one god (more hogwash – they worship Mo, allah and the Koran and that black rock).

We are never going to truly confront this problem until we get off of Saudi oil. We should of been drilling years ago.

While Muslims are burning Christian Churches in Christian Countries Christians are sitting back dumbfounded simply because they dumb, and the ungrateful Muslims are all over the Christian World eating, earning, saving, not only existing but living life in complete happiness. Rest assured, what they have done in looting and burning is by all means not Islam. The ALLAH is also in the Arabic Christian Bible prior to Islam, it's not Islamic it's Arabic for GOD.

    • January 25, 2010 at 12:45 am

Mohammad encouraged looting, and the Koran advocates terrorism. So it is Islamic.

In the past Christians were known to turn the other cheek and love their neighbour, that was in the past, but those cowards who are burning Christian Churches will get their turn real soon to turn the other cheek double the fold, Christians are fed up turning the other cheek without a fight, yes, there will be bloodshed if they keep it up, those are truly not Muslims, they only hide behind Islam in the name of Muslims, they're nothing but lowdown terrorists.

    • January 25, 2010 at 2:06 am

Turning the other cheek to Islam, is a slow suicide.

I don't know what you exactly mean, but we no longer intend to turn
the other cheek, but what we do intend to do is to fight those thugs, those terrorists must know and be warned that we no longer intend to turn other cheek. Only 100% cowards stoop lower than a snake's belly to burn a Church, Mosque, or synegogue, those place are places of worship for the human race including all other denominations and religions. Amen

In the Arab World there's a popular saying: When an Arabian Stallion is over fed it starts to buck and kick, those so called Muslims who are not true Muslims are starting to buck and kick, simply because they're over fed, as
previously mentioned they're only a bunch misfits and undesirable thugs, they do not by all means represent Muslims nor Islam at all whatsoever.

    • January 28, 2010 at 12:15 am

Islam is a religion of war and it calls for the dominance of Christians and Jews.

Please point out the major "moderate" Muslim voice against non-Muslims being persecuted across the Islamic world. Their silence says it all.

Why don't you mention the mosque that was burnt down in that same region? Is it because it's a mosque and does not deserve mentioning?
You're all a bunch of hypocrites, hiding behind your screen and criticizing what you don't understand, and while I despise religious groups in general, I thing that evangelists deserve a special treatment in hell (if there's such a thing).

    • March 23, 2010 at 5:29 pm

1.The article does not say anything about a Mosque being burned down.

2."Hypocrites"? Were Jews hypocrites for speaking out against Nazism? It is called taking a side in life.

3..I am using my real name, so I am not hiding. (Not that I am saying that the others here are hiding.)

4.I understand Islam very well. It is a religion of war, that encourages lying, allows rape, and extortion. Anytime that you want to debate me on those points you let me know.

5.You "despise", religious groups in general but here you are defending Islam, and bashing Evangelists. Try and make some sense.

I see that you are posting from the UK. Which means that you are either a Muslim playing games, or a leftist who is in denial about the Islamic threat to the UK. Here is a clue, the threat is not Christianity.

Rumor is a common weapon Muslims use.
You have no obligation to tell us the truth about anything.
And so we have good reasons for distrusting and discrediting everything you say.
      It’s your religion.
      It tells you to lie.
      And you do lie.

      • November 5, 2011 at 1:21 am

eib, it’s the same tactic liberal progressives use, case in point, Herman Cain’s latest attacks….

        • eib
          November 5, 2011 at 5:30 am

It’s because journalism is so bad and so incomplete that rumor can be used so easily.
If journalists started running actual transcripts of speeches and rhetoric, if they actually started writing based on evidence instead of hearsay, then attacks like these would not be made at all.
Note that all of it is personal. If they can’t face someone on political or principled ground, they’ll attack personally.

          November 5, 2011 at 5:31 am

A personal attack is always the most desperate political move.
It indicates that the speaker really has no evidence at all.

when was a Mosque burnt and why post links….a little proof goes a long way, just saying something doesn’t mean it’s true

      You have no Lord.
      You have no YHWH.
You have only Allah and his messenger.
And they have commanded you to work great violence in the world.
Which the strongest of you do unrepentantly.
      Our LORD said:
If we say we have no sin, then we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
In Islam, there is no sin.
There is only the lie– to one’s self and to the infidel.

Moslems are burning churches worldwide. I don’t know why people blame bad or extremist Moslems. They are actually being good Moslems. The Koran calls for the destruction of the Infidel. They are just doing what their leader (peace be upon him) wanted.

My views on this topic differ from you. It is great that you brought this up on your blog. It was a nice controversial read. What once seemed like a never discussed issue has become more prevalent. It’s that time to change our stance on this though.
An impressive share, I’ve just given your post print out to one of my colleagues who was doing a little analysis on this. He insisted and bought me a breakfast because I found it for him… Smile. So let me reword that: Thanks for the treat! Thanks for spending your time to discuss this. I feel strongly controversial about it and love reading more on this topic. Yeah! Intellectual debate! As you become expert, would you mind updating your blog with more details? It highly feeds our intellectual. Two thumbs up!

    Talk to you later,
