Tonight I am going to step away from my favorite topic, and tell you what I just experienced about a half-hour ago in the city. I was talking down the street, and I heard some guy yelling out, “sir….sir”… so I looked over to him and he says, “sorry to bother you sir.” “Do you know what time it is?” As I started to look at what time it is for him, he stated “I have the Obama phone, and it sucks!” I told him the time and asked what he meant, and to show me the phone. He said “here look, there is no time, and they only give me 250 minutes a month”. I replied, that is it? He said “yes, and it does not last long”. “Then when you run out, they keep calling me soliciting me to buy more minutes!” He went on to say he had mistakes in life, and has no money. So I gave the guy a few bucks, and he said may God bless you.
Now I have a question, is Obama really helping these people, or is he helping himself? Where does the money go?……….
Last I checked there were over 20 million people with an “Obama Phone” (double of what it was a year ago). It is over one million just in Ohio alone where it cost $26.9 million in the first quarter of 2012 versus $15.6 million in the same timeframe in 2011.
They are provided through TracFone Wireless, Inc’s subsidiary called SafeLink.
btw, The program called “Life Line”, which started under Ronald Reagan, provided $10.00 off of a standard land line phone. The Bush Administration’s FCC made a change giving a choice between a cell phone or the land line deduction of $10.00. The program is funded through the “Universal Service Fund” on phone bills, usually a dollar or two per bill and the cell phone itself is supposedly provided for free therefore the reason for the low quality cell phone. So cutting the Lifeline program will not reduce the federal deficit by one cent and the credit for it does not belong with Obama.
Well, this is what these fools did not think about. Yes, they got a free phone but the primary purpose of those phones were supposed to be for emergency use. They were paid for with the USF fee by those of us who pay for our telephones. This was originally for people who did not have landlines and were on some kind of federal subsistence program. Then, a lobbyist got congress to extend it to extend the program to cell phones.
On top of this, the Obama campaign hijacked the program to get people to vote for him, saying he was giving out the phones because of his largesse. So if a person thinks the “free” cell phone they received sucks, he will get no sympathy from me. If he wants a better phone, tell them to pay for their own.
I volunteer at a Christian Charity where our mission is to feed and cloth the poor and homeless. People drive up in better cars than I have, some very expensive gas guzzlers, to get their free stuff. As I process them they spend the whole time talking on their iPhones. Not all of course and many are truly in need but it’s pretty amazing how entitled people are and it will get far worse as imam obama takes from others to give to them. Sick world getting sicker.
Oh it is a Christian charity but you better believe the muslims are right there taking everything they can get from us.
Would you please recommend that these folks that are coming to your Christian Charity have to sit through a few minute service before receiving their donations.

Due to divorce, illness and retirement I caved. And got in the food stamp line. $16.00 a month! Soon a small package arrived in my mailbox. OMG! It was a cell phone. How funny, living in a dead zone, no cell tower, I was instructed to drive to the nearest city, 15 mi. away to use the phone. It’s resting somewheres in a refuge. Talking to seagulls? What waste ……………
