Oklahoma police captain suspended for not ordering his officers to attend event at mosque
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A Tulsa police captain who wouldn’t make his officers attend a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day at a local mosque because it violated his religious beliefs has been suspended without pay for two weeks.
According to a personnel order, Capt. Paul Fields was suspended for violating the department’s rules on being obedient and on conduct unbecoming of an officer.
The appreciation day was held March 4 at the mosque of the Islamic Society of Tulsa as a way of thanking officers for their response to a threat against the organization.
In February, Deputy Chief Daryl Webster told Fields that the event was voluntary, but officers could be assigned to it if there weren’t enough volunteers.
Fields’ Scott Wood has filed a grievance over the suspension and a lawsuit is pending.

These Muslims better be pandering to the local police officers in every way possible. We all know what happens when you get on the bad side of a cop. If people even began to have a clue how many times these police officers showed up at a residence because of domestic violence and the man was Muslim, they’d understand the stupidity of the Deputy. For the most part that only applies to Christianity it seems. While Islam gets its own set of rules.
The idea of separation of religion from the state, of religion from anything, is alien to Islam.
Muslims come from a pre-Christian tradition in which religion was pantheistic– it penetrated and permeated every aspect of life.
Muslims remain in this pantheistic, magical-thinking world.
They have never grown away from it.
A former Muslim recently wrote that she washes her hands before praying (now Christian) after petting her dog because she still has it in her head that dog saliva makes prayers “null and void.”
This is an example of magical thinking, and it is only associated with the most primitive of religion and it certainly pre-dates Judaism.

The Danbury Baptist Association of Danbury, Connecticut sent a letter, dated October 7, 1801, to the newly elected President Thomas Jefferson, expressing concern over the lack in their state constitution of explicit protection of religious liberty, and against a government establishment of religion.
The Danbury Baptist Assoc., religious beliefs were that church and state had to be separate. No government employee (police officer) can order another government employee to attend a religious meeting. Not in the USA. This needs to be contested in court.
Yeah I wrote about this extensively on a national police website forum a few months ago and most of the cops there didn’t support this brave officer.
