The people are poor, but nobody is starving like the MSM would have you believe. Stores are stocked with consumer goods, including perishables. After all, you certainly remember the multi-billion dollar aid packages promised by the EU nations and Japan over the last decade and a half.
Israel offered to ship the ships’ goods to Gaza oveland… they were refused by Hamas(see story on this site.)
Turkey and Iran and Hamas are Islamists, and as such the welfare of their people is secondary to both the propaganda points they can score in weakening Israel on the international stage, and in expanding the reach and influence of radical Islam.
If they had nothing to hide, no rockets to import, no concrete to build military fortifications, the good would have been delivered without incident. BUT TURKEY/IRAN/HAMAS WANT AN INCIDENT! It’s part of the plan of assymetrical warfare.
You see, they’ve tried launching military offensives against Israel and got their asses handed to them. So then they emparked on a reign of terror, bus bombings, Spbarro pizza bombings, Passover Seder bombings, etc, and after causing much dammage and destruction, that too has been almost halted due to the security wall and other measures.
But assymetrical warfare, using NGO’s and social media, is a new kind of warfare and one in which Israel may not excel. They have found an Achilles Heel, and are exploiting it. You would be wise to keep this in mind and examine the facts, not just the ‘poor starving souls’ fabrications that the MSM like BBC and others dish out day in and day out.
