US Rep: No plot to poison food at SC Army base
COLUMBIA, S.C. — An Army probe into allegations of verbal threats involving a base’s food supply has revealed that none of the five soldiers detained was involved in any plot to poison food at the base, a congressman said Sunday.
U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., said Sunday information he received as a member of the House Armed Services Committee showed there was no plot. The five Muslim soldiers who were connected to a translator training program had been detained in December while the Army investigated.
“The investigation revealed that there was not an effort to poison food,” Wilson said. The probe also showed the men had not been disloyal.Four of the soldiers were discharged from the Army for petty crimes, Wilson said, and the fifth was returned to his National Guard unit in Virginia. None of the soldiers has been identified.
U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command spokesman Chris Grey said Sunday that the base’s food was never in danger, and the investigation didn’t turn up any credible information to support the allegations.
An investigation continues into other possible crimes relating to information found on their laptops, Wilson said. The laptops were turned over to the FBI for analysis.
Neither Grey nor Wilson would elaborate on the ongoing investigation.
Fort Jackson, near Columbia, puts more than 50,000 soldiers annually through basic and advanced instruction, serving about 40,000 hot meals daily at 13 dining halls.
In this update to the US Army food poisoning plot, Rep. Joe Wilson states that there was no plot to poison to the food. But that four of the five Muslim soldiers that were questioned, have been discharged for “petty crimes”. What I want to know is what does “petty crimes” equate to? If they were “petty crimes” that had nothing to do with a poisoning plot, how come they were not discharged until now? After the obvious cover up of the Islamic factor in the Fort Hood shooting, what is to stop them from lying to us again?
Watch the fifth one….
This is DEF interesting!!
bon
Of course our so called leaders will do their best to cover up anything related to Islam, and now they are free to roam the streets with even more hatred in their hearts.
Not only are they free to roam the streets, they have military training now. Why weren't they locked up?
If we could SEE all the jihad in America, we would rise up in anger and disbelief that our nation was hiding so much from us. These 18 legislative actions would stop islam/sharia in America:
#6. Make public jihad "crime" statistics.
#12. Teach the legacy of jihad in both public and military education.
#14. No foreign ownership of news media. (No more FOX 'revising' the news to please a Saudi)

Hi Civilus, haven't seen you on JW lately.
khushi,
JW is an essential part of the ongoing education of all infidels. Robert and Hugh helped me to focus my outrage and be a critical thinker re islam and sharia. I continue to pursue general public eduation on islam/sharia and particularly legislation to stop this invasion and 'slow' conquest. I still lurk and post occasionally. Of course, the number of sites has exploded (thank you, Christopher) and if FaceBook is any indication, the nation isn't being deceived – the knowledge is growing and the anger is building. This election cycle will be interesting.
Still in cyberspace,

I guess Joe Wilson’s courage dries up when confronted with an Islamist backlash. This whole incident is apparently being swept under the rug. Also, what are petty crimes anyway?
hhhmmm, interesting article. I would say that maybe the military isn't as politically correct as we were thinking <I hope>.
Most of the time we don't hear what goes on in the military anyway unless a parent or a group brings up an issue. The media ignores this just as they ignore all the violence perpetrated by islam in many countries. I would say it is more of a media problem than a military problem of what goes on in the military. Look at ACORN, if the media didn't go after them we wouldn't know what was going on in ACORN. Oops, the media – except for Glen Beck – DIDN'T do any investigative reporting on ACORN and instead accept the idea that Glen Beck is the bad guy, and blame conservatives/Republicans for being labeled as criminals, etc.
If people knew everything going on in the military, the ones who never served would be outraged most of the time.
Additional details about the incident being glossed over by the media:
1.) The petty crimes they were discharged for were the theft of other soldiers cell phones and military ids.
(Given theft was involved why didn't they receive dishonorable discharges? Why would they need addl cell phones and military ids if not for dirty deeds????)
2.) Four of the five soldiers have reportedly been returned to their "countries of origin". The 'countries of origin' have not been identified.
3.)Some interesting info about their unit, Lima Nine:
"To attract such recruits, military intelligence promises foreigners that if they join the Army as a translator they will get U.S. citizenship and a top security clearance. Candidates from Afghanistan and Iraq, including the Jackson Five, speak such poor English the Army puts them in Lima Nine and gives them English lessons, so they will have some hope of passing basic training. Clayton Leishman, program manager, said 34 recruits in the program last summer scored 50 in English, below the 80 required, but with 24 weeks of tutoring they would pass basic. Another program director, Lt. Col. Frank Deminth, said Lima Nine recruits are put on a fast track to U.S. citizenship, “once they serve one day of honorable active duty.” It is interesting to note that when these Muslims join Lima Nine they also are joining an Army intelligence group."

RIght, there was no plot. Thanks for the update!
These revelations are shocking.
Is the US army crazy?
Accepting anyone who knows certain languages and then giving them US citizenship and full security clearance is nothing less than suicidal.
Dinah – you're rocking. Perhaps if the military used #3 like honey to attract the bad guys and interrogate them, rather than giving them citizenship, I would have more faith in them.
I have been in communication with an intel analyst who is trying to stomp out the suicidal political correctness in threat assessment. Keep the pressure on electeds, law enforcement – they are responsible to protect and defend, not sell us out.

The cell phone thing kept bugging me – so I kept digging (links provided in earlier comment):
About those cell phones? (from the pdf found by FReeper Veni Vidi Vici at the US's Iraq embassy site)
"Soldiers are not allowed to have cellular phones while in a training environment. All three locations (ESL Training, BCT and AIT)are considered training environments."
BCT (Basic Combat Training) and AIT (Advanced individual Training) takes place at Ft Jackson. (or did until it was recently moved to Fort Huachaca.*
*"Earlier, spokesman Jones said the sudden and silent transfer of Lima Nine headquarters from Fort Jackson to Fort Huachuca, Arizona, had absolutely nothing to do with the Jackson Five investigation."
Of course not.
You are a gem, my FRiend. Our so called Islamic loving leaders, want to us click our heels three times, and repeat, "Islam is no threat", "Islam is no threat", "Islam is no threat"…
Why move it to Ft Huachaca? Why not Ft Bliss where there is Defense Language Institue or there is was back in the 80s or the Presido in Monterey. Ft Huachaca has too much senstive info on it.
uh… sorry but you don't get a dishonorable discharge for "petty" crimes… there must be more to the story. At the most they would get Non Judicial Punishment (NJP) mabye a fine, restriction reduction in rank but NO WAY a dishonorable. What were they stealing cell phones and IDs for? HMMMMMm COULDN'T BE TO USE AS DETONATORS AND THE ID'S FOR THEIR BUDDIES!!! I smell a huge stinking cover up!!!
Hi Jill,
Thanks for usual honesty.
Oh, and you are right… if you knew HALF of the crap that goes on in the military – you would all be pissed off most of the time! I did 20 years! (and I was pissed off most of the time! haha) Love my country, proud of most of our vets and active duty but the system breeds cowards… whistleblowers or those who try to act with integrity are squashed a lot of the time… At least at my retirement – the one thing everyone said, "She is honest!"
I am a former Legal Specialist (71D) who was the NCOIC of Fort Jackson Trial Defense Services for a few years. I also worked for the prosecution side for a few years at Fort Hood. I can tell you these guys would not be discharged for "petty crimes." They would receive an Article 15 which could result in loss of pay, drop in rank, restriction to a certain area, etc. No way they were discharged for just having cell phones and IDs; even of they were stolen. This is definitely a cover up.
Hi Russ,
Thanks for the insight, and after the Pentagon cover up of the Islamic factor in the Fort Hood attack, nothing would surprise me. We are in a war in at least five Islamic countries, and allowing Muslims into the military is just a bad idea. We owe them nothing.
Thank you for your service.
Russ, Russ, do you know of any way I could find out the names of these dicharged Muslims? I've been trying for several days but nothing so far. How about the Freedom of Information Act?
All that I can say is that the country needs more like you guys.
Smells like a other government cover up. Just like Clinton did on TWA Flight 800. You just don't discharge a person for petty crimes. You charge them under UCMJ and more than likely give them a article 15. This is more serious than they are letting on. I should know I spent 12 1/2 years in the Army.
Exactly, smells like another Islamic whitewash. Just like the Fort Hood attack.
