With Obama in charge we are a weak country. Everyone except those that voted for him, seems to realize this. As Iran gets closer to obtaining nuclear weapons, they will get even more brazen. Will anyone stop them? I doubt very much that Obama is going to do anything, will Israel? Or will Obama try and stop Israel from protecting themselves? My money is on Israel. Go Bibi!

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that the country has documents showing that the biggest terrorist incidents are rooted in the US and the Zionist regime.

Ahmadinejad addressed the US and Zionist regime’s officials, saying, “you are the major cause for terrorism; you organize it and support it as well.”

Speaking on the International workers’ Day, Ahmadinejad added, “the US is the only government which has used atomic bomb and officials of the country admitted that they have applied atomic weapons during war in Iraq, as we are witnessing today, the US is threatening some countries with the bombs whereas it has become the pioneer of fighting atomic weapon.”

Addressing the US administration, Iranian President said, “friendship with Iran is the only way for your survival.”

“You should know that today, Iranian nation is decisive to reach the peak of progress and honor.”

“You must be aware that your confrontations against Iran do not create the smallest barrier to Iranian nation’s progress, but they increase the nation’s motivation for more efforts.”

He described Iranian nation as being logical, just and ready for concession and cooperation and said, “any hand which rises against Iran and any pen which signs something against the country will be cut off.”

Recently Obama had blocked a shipment of bunker-busters that was slated for Israel, and in the meantime the murdering Mullahs of Iran are on their way to obtaining nuclear warheads. Now our America hating Dictator is pledging not to develop any new nuclear weapon systems. I know that Obama wants to destroy America as we know it, but what is even more disturbing is that many of his followers actually believe that other countries will not see this as a sign of weakness, and look to build up their military might to challenge us. They are just do not deal in reality.

Obama Set to Reject U.S. ‘Nuclear Posture’

President Obama will rewrite America’s policy on nuclear weapons next week, heralding further reductions in the U.S. stockpile and giving a pledge not to develop new systems.

After a review of the nation’s nuclear weapons arsenal that has involved, among others, the Pentagon, the Department of Energy and the intelligence services, as well as the White House, Obama is expected to reject the doctrine on nuclear weapons — the “nuclear posture” — adopted by George W. Bush, which included the possibility of the United States launching an attack on a non-nuclear state.

The Obama Administration has come under pressure from arms control analysts to redefine the circumstances in which the U.S. might consider using nuclear weapons, and to state beyond doubt that the justification for keeping them is purely as a deterrent.

After the president’s speech in Prague last April, when he laid out his personal vision of a world without nuclear weapons, the U.S. has been carrying out a review of its nuclear posture and the conclusions are due to be published in a declassified version early next week — before Obama flies back to Prague to sign the new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) with President Medvedev of Russia on April 8.

President Bush tried but failed to persuade Congress to finance a new program to develop more advanced “bunker-busting” nuclear bombs, as well as to design new atomic warheads. Now Obama is expected to rule out the development of new weapons systems — despite reservations from the military, which is mindful that Russia and China are modernising and expanding their nuclear forces respectively. He will also drop the notion, espoused by his predecessor, that nuclear warheads can be deployed in certain circumstances; for example, if another country resorts to attacking U.S. forces with chemical or biological weapons.

Daryl Kimball, executive director of the Arms Control Association in Washington, said that if Obama redefined nuclear arms as purely weapons of deterrence, it would “eliminate the number of potential targets the U.S. military think they need to hit”. It would also reduce the number of nuclear weapons the U.S. believes it needs, he said, which could bring the total well below the 1,550 strategic warheads agreed under the new Start treaty announced last week.

Just a few days ago I posted an article entitled “US “bunker-busters” Being Shipped, Is Iran the Last Stop?” The article was about US “bunker-busters” going from California to the British island of Diego Garcia. Supposedly they were to be shipped to Israel for a strike on the nuke sites of Iran. Now we get this disappointing report. By the time Obama is done, the only “friends” that we have will be our enemies.

Obama blocks delivery of bunker-busters to Israel

WASHINGTON — The United States has diverted a shipment of bunker-busters designated for Israel.

Officials said the U.S. military was ordered to divert a shipment of smart bunker-buster bombs from Israel to a military base in Diego Garcia. They said the shipment of 387 smart munitions had been slated to join pre-positioned U.S. military equipment in Israel Air Force bases.

“This was a political decision,” an official said.

In 2008, the United States approved an Israeli request for bunker-busters capable of destroying underground facilities, including Iranian nuclear weapons sites. Officials said delivery of the weapons was held up by the administration of President Barack Obama.

Since taking office, Obama has refused to approve any major Israeli requests for U.S. weapons platforms or advanced systems. Officials said this included proposed Israeli procurement of AH-64D Apache attack helicopters, refueling systems, advanced munitions and data on a stealth variant of the F-15E.

“All signs indicate that this will continue in 2010,” a congressional source familiar with the Israeli military requests said. “This is really an embargo, but nobody talks about it publicly.”

Under the plan, the U.S. military was to have stored 195 BLU-110 and 192 BLU-117 munitions in unspecified air force bases in Israel. The U.S. military uses four Israeli bases for the storage of about $400 million worth of pre-positioned equipment meant for use by either Washington or Jerusalem in any regional war.

In January 2010, the administration agreed to an Israeli request to double the amount of U.S. military stockpiles to $800 million. Officials said the bunker-busters as well as Patriot missile interceptors were included in the agreement.

The decision to divert the BLU munitions was taken amid the crisis between Israel and the United States over planned construction of Jewish homes in Jerusalem. The administration, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has warned that Washington could reduce military aid to Israel because of its construction policy.

In 2007, after its war in Lebanon, Israel requested 2,000 BLU-109 live bombs from the United States. The 2,000-pound bomb, produced by Boeing and coupled with a laser guidance kit, was designed to penetrate concrete bunkers and other underground hardened sites.

Israeli ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, was quoted as saying that his country faced its biggest crisis with the United States since 1975. A pro-Israel lobbyist said Oren was referring to the current U.S. embargo, which echoed a decision taken 35 years ago by then-President Gerald Ford after Israel’s refusal to withdraw from Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. Oren has since denied the remark.

Hundreds of powerful US “bunker-buster” bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean in preparation for a possible attack on Iran.

The Sunday Herald can reveal that the US government signed a contract in January to transport 10 ammunition containers to the island. According to a cargo manifest from the US navy, this included 387 “Blu” bombs used for blasting hardened or underground structures.

Experts say that they are being put in place for an assault on Iran’s controversial nuclear facilities. There has long been speculation that the US military is preparing for such an attack, should diplomacy fail to persuade Iran not to make nuclear weapons.

Although Diego Garcia is part of the British Indian Ocean Territory, it is used by the US as a military base under an agreement made in 1971. The agreement led to 2,000native islanders being forcibly evicted to the Seychelles and Mauritius.

The Sunday Herald reported in 2007 that stealth bomber hangers on the island were being equipped to take bunker-buster bombs.

Although the story was not confirmed at the time, the new evidence suggests that it was accurate.

Contract details for the shipment to Diego Garcia were posted on an international tenders’ website by the US navy.

A shipping company based in Florida, Superior Maritime Services, will be paid $699,500 to carry many thousands of military items from Concord, California, to Diego Garcia.

Crucially, the cargo includes 195 smart, guided, Blu-110 bombs and 192 massive 2000lb Blu-117 bombs.

“They are gearing up totally for the destruction of Iran,” said Dan Plesch, director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the University of London, co-author of a recent study on US preparations for an attack on Iran. “US bombers are ready today to destroy 10,000 targets in Iran in a few hours,” he added.

The preparations were being made by the US military, but it would be up to President Obama to make the final decision. He may decide that it would be better for the US to act instead of Israel, Plesch argued.

Defiant Ahmadinejad orders uranium enriched to 20pct

TEHRAN — President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered Iran’s atomic chief on Sunday to enrich uranium to 20 percent, in a fresh challenge to world powers days after appearing to accept a Western proposal for the supply of nuclear fuel to a Tehran reactor.

Ahmadinejad blamed the world powers for the stalemate over a UN-drafted nuclear fuel deal, but left the door open for possible negotiation over the proposal.

He also insisted that world powers “unconditionally” accept exchanging Iran’s low-enriched uranium (LEU) for high purity 20 percent enriched uranium required as nuclear fuel for the Tehran reactor which makes medical isotopes.

“I had said let us give them (world powers) two to three months and if they don’t agree, we would start ourselves,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech at an exhibition on laser technology which was broadcast live on state television.

“Now Dr (Ali Akbar) Salehi, start to make the 20 percent with the centrifuges,” the hardliner told the atomic chief, who was sitting in the audience.

Ahmadinejad’s latest statement comes after he indicated in an interview on state television on Tuesday that Iran was ready to send its LEU abroad for converting into 20 percent nuclear fuel.

Iran and world powers are locked in a stalemate over the UN-drafted deal, which envisages the Islamic republic’s 3.5 percent LEU being sent to Russia and France for enrichment to 20 percent and then returned as fuel for the Tehran reactor.

Iranian officials have opposed this proposal, saying they would prefer a simultaneous exchange on Iranian soil, a plan rejected by world powers.

World powers are keen to ship out Iran’s LEU as they fear Tehran will enrich it to very high levels for use in an atomic weapons programme. Iran insists its nuclear enrichment drive is purely for peaceful purposes.

Ahmadinejad said Sunday that if the world powers “come forward and say ‘we will exchange (uranium) unconditionally and cooperate on your reactors and medicine’… fine then we will cooperate” too.

“Recently we said let’s swap (uranium) though we can produce the 20 percent, but they started playing games,” he said.

“They have just sent messages though that they want to fix things. The road to engagement is open. We did not block it.”

The near daily shifts in the Iranian position over the fuel deal has consistently raised skepticism among world powers, who want to halt Tehran’s galloping nuclear drive.

“I don’t have the sense we are close to an agreement,” US Defence Secretary Robert Gates said in Ankara on Saturday, a day after Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said the nuclear fuel deal was close to being finalised.

“If Iran has decided to accept the proposal of the P5-plus-one, they should do that to the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency),” he told reporters, referring to the five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany.

But IAEA director general Yukiya Amano, who met with Mottaki on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, said the Iranians brought nothing new to the talks.

“We had a very interesting discussion…. There was not a new proposal,” Amano told reporters.

Iran has “done nothing to reassure the international community,” Gates said, adding that “various nations need to think about whether it’s time for a different tack,” indicating the need for a fourth round of sanctions against the Islamic republic.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, whose country along with fellow Security Council member China is seen as less keen on further sanctions, urged Iran to work through the UN watchdog.

“What we want from Iran is to verify very specific questions, raised time and again by the IAEA a long time ago, it is not a difficult thing to do,” he said in Munich.
