US: Muslims Look to Manipulate the Media

The country is slowly waking up to the threat that Islam brings to America, but Muslims also see this and now they are looking to manipulate the media. By “teaching” them what Islam is about using the knowledge of Islamic scholars. Scholar Bukhari and those at Al-Azhar (the highest learning Islamic school in the world), teach us that Islam is a religion of war that allows the taking of sex slaves. Will they teach the journalists these aspects of Islam? Of course not.

MSU conference to focus on ‘Islam and media’

EAST LANSING, Mich., Dec. 15 (UPI) — Lectures, a panel discussion and a Muslim comedian are all on tap for an “Islam and the media” conference slated for February at Michigan State University.

Rami Khouri will be the keynote speaker. He is the director of the Issam Fares Institute of Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut and the editor-at-large of Beirut’s Daily Star newspaper.

The conference is the final project of a grant that also funded the new class “Reporting on Islam,” and the new Web site IMAJE, or Islam, Muslims and Journalism Education.

“The idea is that we would be a go-to place for students of journalism and students of Islam,” said Salah Hassan, an English professor who is helping to build the Web site.

The conference will focus on Western media coverage of Islam and Muslims.Information gathered from the class and the Web site is expected to be presented and critiqued.

“Muslims are like anybody; they are diverse. Scholars have critiqued U.S. media and found that we continue to see the dominant paradigm is that Islam has been framed in a negative light,” said Geri Alumit Zeldes, the journalism professor who taught “Reporting on Islam” and is working on the Web site.

The new Web site will have a section to teach students and journalists “best practices for reporting on Islam.”

“The challenge of IMAJE is to take the knowledge of experts and scholars and translate it to common terms a journalist can use,” said Hassan.

Zeldes and Hassan plan to do future media projects related to IMAJE as well. One plan is to create a stylebook focused on Arabic or Islam. Another is to create a similar audio/visual style guide.

“It’s not only a sign of respect when we pronounce things accurately, but it’s also a sign of good journalism,” said Zeldes.

Professors also want to get high school students involved in their quest to provide more information about Islam and the media.

“I think there is a growing interest in this subject matter, especially where media and religion are concerned. It’s something you see every day,” said Zeldes.

Virginia has been the lauching pad or Base or headquarter from where to carry out total stealth Jihad. Saudi Arabia has spent more than billions of dollars in 'Dawa' or conversion by hook or crook including gulible Americans who seem to think Trinity is not logical yet Illusions of heavenly virgins are more convincing. WAKE UP AMERICA DO NOT LET A WILLFULL INGNORANT POLITICIAN DECIDE THE FATE OF YOUR COUNTRY. THE CANCER WILL SPREAD TREAT IT OR IT WILL DESTROY THE HOST. EDUCATE YOURSELVES AND POLITICIANS ALIKE ABOUT TROJAN HORSE AMONGST THEIR MIDST.

The Muslim Student Association is spreading hatred of Jews on college campuses across the country and nothing is being done to stop them.

These people have the audacity to say that they've looked through the mainstream media, and Islam is portrayed in a negative light!

    And people actually believe that!

"The challenge of IMAJE is to take the knowledge of experts and scholars and translate it to common terms a journalist can use,”"

What this taqqing pig is suggesting is that they will sanitize the shit spouting from the 'learned' imams, add taqqia and kitman to continue the illusion that islam is a religion of peace and terrorists are hijacking this religion of peace by taking things out of context.

I am just curious how even they will be able to 'interpret' certain fatwas: for instance the one about adult women breastfeeding their male colleagues to bypass the k(m)oronic injunction against women working with non-mahram men.

    Go to:
You will see a video in which there are so-called moderate (non-Radical) Muslims. They are not part of big conspiracy – but through their own ignorance are dancing with uneducated, pc, liberal Jews. They will not admit (at least not in public) the true nature of Islam is..a rose is a rose is a rose..

    NPR contributes to the campaign:
    Muhammad As Muslims Know Him
    Date: 10 December 2009
    Rethinking the Founder of Islam
Muhammad has an image problem. To believers he is a mystic, a reformer and a prophet of peace. But to his detractors, the Islamic prophet of God is linked with violence and the oppression of women. Omid Safi introduces us to the historical Muhammad, a deeply spiritual human who slept on a simple bed of hay, and preached a message of justice to the ancient tribes of Arabia.

This interfaith fantasy has to stop. Interfaith talks have been going on for centuries yet Islam keeps on advancing.

Happy holidays to you and your family!

I don't know how much you know about Islam or you have only heard, Omid Safi. I can tell you he has lied. He says"In a matter of100 years Islam spread from Spain to India." What he failed to tell us ,how did it spread so quick? Read a Book by Serge Trifkovic " The Sword Of The Prophet Islam" In Quran "Mercy to the World" is only meant for Muslims ,but NOT to non believers. Safi say"In Islam women were allowed to have the right to property, inheritance and divorce. These things were there before Mohammad started Islam. Mohammad's first wife Khadija(she was 45 years of age and Mo was 25 years of age when he married her) she was a widow had her own property and business. But today muslim women don't have equal rights. see

      Thank you.

I was a student in the class and will be attending the conference you're all so quick to dismiss as propaganda. I know I'm not going to dispel any of the hatred you people have in your hearts, but I want to ask a couple quick question: have any of you ever actually talked with officers of a Muslim Student Association or been on their mailing list? Been to a mosque? Have Muslim friends?

I'm going to assume that the majority of the commenters here are Christian. You guys ever heard of Adolf Hitler? Timothy McVeigh? You're followers of the same religion, so you all must share their ideologies, right?

If you people took the effort you put into posting about how dangerous Islam is and how evil Muslims are, and instead focused on advancing educational opportunities in and reaching out to the Islamic work, you'd be doing a much better job combating extremism and terrorism. But, I suppose it is much easier to just consider every Muslim as a deadly foe and backstabber, hiding their real motivations so they can eventually kill you.

My good friends from Pakistan sure are biding their time, though… almost four years and not one knife in the back yet. I did catch a pretty bad cold the last time I stayed over at one of their apartments when I was on vacation. Do you think it was biological warfare? When and where do you think I can expect them to reveal their secret violent plans? I really want to be prepared when they stop "taqqing" and turn on me!

You really should educate yourself on this issue. The MSA is spreading hatred of Jews across the country.

The Muslim Students Association and the Jihad Network

Did it ever occur to you that your Muslim "friends" might be lying to you, like their religion encourages them to?

Hitler and McVeigh were not driven to their sickness from Christianity.

People have been reaching out to the Islamic world for centuries and now the problem is in our backyard. So explain what dialogue with them has accomplished. You might also want to educate yourself to the fact that the political aspect of Islam, is an even bigger threat to life as we know it than potential suicide bombers.

Muslim immigration is the Trojan Horse to the West. When you have the magical plan to separate the "good" Muslims from the bad, please let us know. I am sure you would of worked wonders with the Nazis as well.

    • January 18, 2010 at 1:18 am

The sad part of this is that you are a journalism student and you have obviously done no research on this issue.

      • January 22, 2010 at 3:54 pm

Actually, Christopher, I've done considerable reading on the topic and I've spent a great deal of time with real-life, honest to god Muslims, both American and international. I would be very surprised to find that anyone here has actually spent time in real life with Muslim people.

        • January 22, 2010 at 9:11 pm

Yet you ignore all the facts that I posted and you praising the MSA, show us how little you actually know.

Yea, that is it. No one here knows any Muslims. The reality is that we have not let Muslims play us as a fool.

          From the article.

"The new Web site will have a section to teach students and journalists “best practices for reporting on Islam.”

          This is a suckers game.

  12. January 17, 2010 at 11:33 pm

Yeah..,maybe you just lucked out. Try looking at the sources WE look at. Try reading the news and listening to what WE listen to.
You tell us that islam is peaceful, we see radical muslims as a threat to the freedom and democracies of the world.
Obviously you are in agreement with their ideology, just keep your eyes open, because you don't see the side of islam that we see DAILY!
And don't ever forget, all it takes is a radical few and the rest just fall in line.
Remember the Nazis…just a few to get it started..
    Pol Pot?
    Castro and Che?
Just a few is all it needs, just a radical few.

  13. January 22, 2010 at 3:53 pm

My annoyance is that you don't seem to accept that there ARE just a radical few who support terror and violence. The vast majority of Muslims, although they have serious gripes with the United States and Israeli governments, don't condone violence against them. I don't like the Republican Party but I would never ever condone any kind of violent attack on their HQ. Most of the Muslim world is in that boat.

    • January 22, 2010 at 9:14 pm

Muslims have voted Islamist groups like Hezbollah, AKP, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood etc. into office. There goes your "few" claim.

The vast majority of Muslims sit silently as Islam advances across the world. That says it all.

  14. January 22, 2010 at 3:56 pm

I'm just really upset with how you conflate radical Muslims with the Muslim world. Terrorists are the KKK of the Muslim world. Look at all the bombings going on in Pakistan right now: they're killing other Muslims, not Americans.

    • January 22, 2010 at 9:32 pm

Apparently Tom here who praises the MSA, has the magical plan to separate the "good" Muslims from the bad. When you are ready please let the world know, as time is running out.

      Thank you.

  15. January 22, 2010 at 9:16 pm

99% of the Islamic world sits silently as Sharia advances and the bottom line is that their immigration is trouble. Muslims have been killing each other for centuries. That is on them,

BTW, your feelings are not my concern. If you don't like what you read here, do not come here. I will not stop for you.
